What is the role of Glycemic Index in fat loss?
Glycemic index is a diet plan to see how foods and drinks can affect the glucose level of your blood.
A high Glycemic index diet can cause a rapid increase in blood glucose level, a rapid insulin response, so we feel more hungry, and eventually, we gain weight.
However, a low Glycemic index diet helps in suppressing our appetite. It controls our blood glucose level and subsequently delays our need for hunger. So, low Glycemic index diet helps you manage your weight, because a well-balanced diet includes, low-fat and less processed foods.
In simple words Glycemic index or GI is the rate of blood glucose level formation for a particular food. Foods with the low glycemic index can help in fat loss as it will take a longer time to completely break into glucose and thus elongating interval of appetite. So less food intake will help in fat loss.
