Is there a connection between weight loss and sleep?

How does lack of sleep affect our body weight? Can we consider a healthy sleep as a method to be fit?

When you are sleep deprived you tend to eat more because when you do not get enough sleep you will have less leptin hormone. This hormone tells your body to eat less. However, by sleeping less, you will have a low level of leptin, thus your body will not tell you to eat less and you will ultimately gain weight.

Lack of sleep can cause weight gain because when we are supposed to sleep and we don’t we tend to eat more, this is like eating too many calories while awake but if we sleep we close the need to eat or take more calories which will make us lose weight.
