Ketosis is a process that metabolizes fats in the liver to fatty acids and ketones. These ketones make up the basis for energy in your body as opposed to the glucose that comes from processing carbs in the body. Is it a healthy choice? Yes!
The body keeps metabolizing fat and this leads to a reduction in fat content and ultimately weight. This is a way to go if it works really well for you and if you are ready to adjust and make the necessary changes to your diet. Could be a little tasking but I think it is worth it.
Ketosis diet is a low carbohydrate and high-fat diet plan. With such a low carbohydrate diet, our blood sugar level drops, because it’s not getting the primary fuel source that it normally needs. The body then starts to break down the fat for energy. And as a result, we lose weight.
The ketosis diet plan was created by Dr. Gianfranco Cappello, an associate professor of University in Rome, Italy. In his studies, more than 19,000 dieters experienced significant rapid weight loss, few side effects, and most kept the weight off after a year.
While, Rudy Mawer, a sports nutritionist, has also found some success with the ketosis diet. But, he also stated that “It is a very strict diet. You have to do everything right.” Every individual, he notes, is different and will react differently to such a program.
“What’s great for one person can be horrible for another person,” he said.
Keto diet is a diet plan where you are asked to eat more protein and fats and consume fewer carbs. By not eating carbohydrate and eating more protein and fats, the diet plan tells your body to burn fats for energy instead of glucose. In doing so, the body begins to produce ketones and these ketones are then converted to energy. The ketogenic diet will burn your body fats, therefore you will lose weight.
With this type of diet, you have to strictly rule out carbs from your diet and follow a regular pattern of eating fats and proteins. You don’t want your body still metabolising glucose and then you are consuming fats. The excess will be stored in your body causing weight gain.
This type of diet wasn’t intended for weight loss. It was meant to help treat seizures in kids and later it was found to have an effect on weight loss. You should go for dieting and exercise and you can’t cope with this.
