How many calories to eat in a day?
The number of calories you need in a day depends on your gender, age, weight, and lifestyle. Generally speaking, I suppose you need calories to maintain your weight. It is said that an average man needs about 2500 calories daily while an average woman needs about 2000 calories daily. This could be more or less depending on the factors stated above.
However, to lose weight. You may need about 300-500 fewer calories daily to see visible changes within a week. They key is to burn more calories than you take in.
It is difficult to say exactly how much calories an average man or woman needs. The number of calories depends on various factors such as your physical structure, body weight, kind of work you do, how active you are throughout the day etc. An average adult man who goes to his office by car and sits on the desk all day long and does not work out in a gym but strolls in the morning and evening needs around 2500 calories and for a woman, it is about 2000.
I believe it is pertinent that men take in more calories than the women since they do more tedious work. An average man should take between 2400-2800 while a female that is really active can take between 2200-2500 calories. Less active ones can go for 1800-2000 calories daily.
