Does eating at night make you gain weight?
If you have a routine that is considered normal where your activities are much less and you sleep right after eating, then I can say that it will contribute to your weight gain.
Usually, you are supposed to eat at least two hours before bedtime. Also, it is advisable to make your self a little busy after eating. Perhaps a short walk or something physical to get your system started. Having said this, it means you can eat anytime at night as long as you are not jumping into bed right after.
It takes about eight hours for digestion to be complete. So eat the right and healthy and you’ll have your weight under control.
If you eat and go back to sleep, you are not spending the newly generated calories, thus, you might put on weight if you eat at night. However, if you work night shift and eat at night, it will not increase your fat deposit. If you are eating at night always eat light.
It is a myth that eating late at night affects body weight. There is an assumption that eating late at night will increase the waistlines. Eating late at night will not cause weight gain, as long as it does not exceed daily calorie requirements.
